My Training and Credentials

I’m a doctor of clinical psychology and practicing as a psychologist resident in the state of Oregon. What this means is that I’ve earned my Ph.D. but must accrue additional post-doctoral hours to become officially licensed as a psychologist. While I cannot accept insurance, the good news for you is that I offer excellent care on a sliding fee scale.

I’ve treated a broad range of problems. If you know what you want, let’s talk about it. If you’re uncertain what might be going for you, I’ll help you explore and define your struggles. I’m experienced in working with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, substance abuse. However, many of our problems don’t fit into neat little packages and may manifest as problems with self-esteem, relationships, meaninglessness, or a general sense that something is “off.” I’m comfortable working with any of these difficulties.

I completed my doctoral work in clinical psychology at the University of Montana where in addition to conducting psychotherapy, I taught, did research, conducted clinical assessments, and supervised other graduate students. As part of my doctoral training, I completed a yearlong internship at the Portland VA Medical Center, a well-respected site, with rotations in PTSD, substance abuse, and neuropsychology. It was through my internship that I fell in love with Portland. Both my school and internship are accredited by the American Psychological Association, which requires that training meet their high standards. Prior to earning my PhD, I earned an MA in counseling at Naropa University in Boulder, CO with an emphasis in mindfulness and meditation practices.
